NiMAC, located in the historic center of Nicosia, Cyprus, is the oldest and largest Contemporary Art Centre on the island. Housed in the beautifully restored Old Powerhouse building, NiMAC was inaugurated in 1994 through a partnership between the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, Nicosia Municipality and Pierides Foundation. The center has been recognised with the Europa Nostra Award for its architectural transformation. Over its three-decade existence, NiMAC has organised and hosted more than eighty exhibitions featuring modern and contemporary art, with renowned artists from Cyprus and abroad. Many of these exhibitions have been done in collaboration with museums, art centres, and cultural institutions across Europe and other countries.
