Theatro Polis OPAP
Theatro Polis OPAP, situated in the historic center of Nicosia, Cyprus, underwent renovation and was officially opened in December 2016, inaugurated by European Commissioner Tibor Navracsics and Nicosia’s Mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis. While the building is property of the Nicosia Municipality, the Pierides Foundation oversees the artistic programme at the theatre, hosting diverse performances, conferences, and an artist residency programme. Recently, a collaboration was established with CYENS Centre of Excellence to integrate new technologies into the theatre premises and presentations. Before its transformation, Theatro Polis OPAP served as a woodworking workshop and housed shops and artisan studios.
